AVM has been involved in the development and manufacture of phono preamplifiers since its founding in 1986.The highly sensitive devices for RIAA pre-equalization require special attention, since the finest signals of the entire audio chain are processed here. Since even the smallest interference has a major impact, careful signal processing has a particularly large effect on the sound result. This already gives an idea of the great care that must be taken to build a phono preamplifier with excellent sound quality. At AVM, we have not only built up decades of proven and world-renowned expertise in this area – our manufacturing methods also ensure extremely precise production quality.

The P 1.2 is suitable for amplifying the smallest signals from MC and also from MM systems. Separate inputs are available for this purpose. Phono load adapters can be plugged in parallel for MC systems. 100/200/2000 Ω adapters are included in the delivery.

With the P 1.2 we rely on sonically proven circuits from our repertoire. With the entire signal path shortened to an absolute minimum, even the smallest signals processed are ideally protected from electromagnetic interference. The solid aluminum chassis made of a thick continuous casting profile, which is manufactured exclusively for AVM, effectively protects the special circuit board from external mechanical influences and microphonic effects. In addition, foil capacitors and metal film resistors with 0.5% tolerance are used at sonically relevant points. A careful selection of all components is a matter of course for AVM, just like an extensive quality control, which ensures AVM’s high manufacturing standards.
