With the OVATION AS XL, AVM presents a high-tech reference product that radically redefines what a modern integrated amplifier can be. Designed and built in the AVM high-end audio manufacture in Malsch – the name XL represents the Roman numeral for 40, marking four decades of audiophile amplifier craftsmanship.
Power That Liberates
The AS XL delivers 2×400 watts Class A/AB and drives even the most demanding loudspeakers with commanding authority and effortless ease. A low-stray 1,000 VA toroidal transformer with separate windings, 24 high-performance MOSFETs per channel, and over 270,000 µF of filter capacitance form the energetic foundation. The completely separated analogue channels ensure maximum channel separation and an exceptionally stable soundstage.
Digital Precision at Reference Level
The S-DAC module, built around the ESS 9038 PRO Double-Quad DAC, processes digital signals up to 384 kHz/32-bit PCM and DSD 256. Four DAC channels per stereo channel operate in parallel for extremely precise, low-noise and natural conversion. The entire analogue signal path is fully DC-coupled – no coupling capacitors in the signal path, maximum transparency and speed.
Streaming Without Limits
The AVM X-Stream Engine® connects the AS XL to the entire digital music universe: Qobuz Connect, TIDAL Connect MAX, Spotify Connect, Internet Radio, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth 5.0, and ROON Ready. The RC-X App makes every interaction intuitive and complete. The X-Stream Engine® is fully software-based and future-proof with online updates. AVM RoomConneXion® enables seamless whole-home multiroom audio.

A Complete High-End Command Centre
HDMI ARC connects your television directly. Four digital inputs, USB-A for external hard drives, USB-C for USB audio, analogue RCA and XLR inputs, as well as RCA and XLR outputs, offer maximum flexibility. The analogue inputs are configurable as signal-sensitive inputs or as Home Theatre Throughput. Integrated power filtering (Mini POWER CONDITIONER) shields sensitive components from interference.
