The Ovation A 8.3 and A 6.3 integrated amplifiers by AVM set new standards in amplifier technology. Both models share a multitude of features, including the powerful Class A/AB MOS-FET technology with 20 transistors per channel, delivering an impressive power of 2 x 200 W (8 Ω) or 2 x 330 W (4 Ω). Both amplifiers offer dual-mono architecture, fully DC-coupled input stages, and a highly stable power supply with a 1000 VA toroidal transformer, ensuring robust and precise sound.
The significant difference lies in the pre-amplification technology: The A 6.3 uses select transistor technology (lower left), while the A 8.3 comes with the exclusive Ovation 803 T tube technology (lower right). The tubes of the A 8.3 impart an exceptional warmth and musicality to the sound, whereas the A 6.3 offers outstanding clarity and neutrality with its transistor pre-stage. Hence, both models cater to different sound preferences and offer uncompromising enjoyment for audiophiles.
Advanced features and flawless design
The Ovation A 8.3 / A 6.3 impress with extensive equipment and high-quality design. Both models come with five high-level inputs (1 XLR, 4 RCA), five digital inputs (1 coaxial, 2 optical, 1 USB), and Bluetooth 4.2. For maximum flexibility, they offer two variable preamplifier outputs (XLR and RCA) and a fixed line-out. Signal processing is at a resolution of up to 384 kHz/32 bit plus DSD128 support over USB, thereby reproducing high-resolution formats naturally. Additionally, the amplifiers are equipped with a separate Class-A headphone amplifier accessible via a 6.3 mm jack on the front. A parametric loudness function, tone control with bypass, and the ability to integrate a home theatre setup (AV bypass) provide exceptional versatility. A large, blue glowing display allows for ease of operation, while extensive menu features such as adjustable input sensitivities and individual input naming facilitate personalization.
Visually, the Ovation A 8.3 / A 6.3 impress with a robust aluminum housing available in silver or black. The front can also be ordered in Cellini on request. The models are delivered in an elegant AVM flight case, enhancing the premium character of the devices besides ensuring secure transportation. The included RC 3 full-aluminum remote controls all functions comfortably. Weighing 22 kg and with robust, screw-free housing, these amplifiers stand for a manufacturing quality that meets the highest requirements. As with all models in the Ovation series, the A 8.3 / A 6.3 are handcrafted at the AVM factory in Malsch. Repeated quality checks throughout the manufacturing process and a multi-day burn-in period for each device guarantee utmost reliability and longevity.
